Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province – Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) provided LAK 42,420,000 in funding for the 2026 Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition Promotion Day Project in Vilabouly District, supporting improved access to essential healthcare services for mothers, children, and families in communities surrounding the Sepon Gold-Copper Mine.

The initiative forms part of the Health Impact Assessment (HIA) program for the Sepon Gold and Copper Mine Expansion Project and is being implemented in collaboration with the Vilabouly District Health Office. Mobile health outreach activities were conducted from 15 to 22 June 2026 in six target villages (Non Somphou, Na Xienglae, Na Then Heuy, Na Pho, Na Meuang Sane, and Na Kachan).

LXML’s funding supported field operations by medical teams, as well as the procurement of essential medicines and medical equipment. Services included growth and nutrition monitoring for children under five years old; essential vaccinations for children under two, including BCG, Pentavalent, and MR vaccines; and the distribution of Vitamin A and deworming medication.

The program also supported health checks and vaccination services for pregnant women, postpartum mothers, and women aged 15 to 45. In addition, health education sessions, contraceptive distribution, and self-care counselling were provided to strengthen family health knowledge and promote better healthcare practices within local communities.

Through this initiative, LXML continues to work closely with local health authorities to support preventive healthcare, maternal and child wellbeing, and improved access to essential public health services. The project reflects LXML’s belief that investing in the health of mothers and children today contributes to stronger families, healthier communities, and sustainable development for Vilabouly District and the Lao PDR.
