Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR – Recently, Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) has received the Third-Class Labor Medal approved by H.E. Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith, President of Lao PDR, in recognition of the exceptional achievements of LXML Sepon Mine in the employment of choice in Laos due to company’s best protection of work safety, health care, and social welfare support to Lao employees.

This prestigious Labor Medal acknowledges Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) as a private mining company promoting the capacity building of the Lao national workforce and as well as speeding up localization support to Lao employees through systematic vocational training and via the transaction of technology from foreign experts. Throughout 20 years of Sepon gold-copper mine operation, LXML consistently offers the employment of physical workers to local villagers living within the communities’ host to Sepon Project at 100% and further chooses to select the semi-skilled, skilled, and expertise positions from the eligible local candidates ranking from Vilabouly District, Savannakhet province, and elsewhere in other provinces in Laos. LXML regularly has 1,500 workers directly employed by the company, of which more than 60% are from local communities in the Vilabouly district, and in there 24% are female employees. There are around 5 major contractors with total employees at around another 2,000 staff in total. These contractors keep on serving to Sepon project year by year.

As time ongoing 20 years of operations, LXML spent more than 4 million USD to train Lao workers and open equal opportunities to both the local and the country non-local workforce for self-development and gaining experiences and best practices in place from the operation on site.

Witnessed by H. E. Dr. Sonexai Siphandone - Prime Minister of Lao PDR, the granted Certificates and Labor Medals were presented to LXML by H.E. Phoxay Saiyasone, Minister of Energy and Mines on behalf of the Lao government. Receiving the above-mentioned certificate and medals award on behalf of the company were Mr. Wang Jianhua, Chairman of Chifeng Gold, and Mr. Gao Bo, Director and Vice President of Chifeng Gold, and Chairman of LXML.
